If there’s one thing seminary guaranteed, it’s that I did a whole lot of writing. Research papers, theological reflections, and more citations than I care to count—it’s been a journey! Now that I’ve graduated, I thought it might be helpful to share some of what I’ve learned with you. Over the next few posts, I’ll be opening up my seminary archives and giving you a peek at what I submitted for class.
First up, here’s an infographic I created based on the “5 Qualifications for the Interpreter of Scripture” from Introduction to Biblical Interpretation by William W. Klein, Craig L. Blomberg, and Robert L. Hubbard Jr (2017). It’s a resource designed to help us approach God’s Word with humility, diligence, and reverence.

Now, let’s be honest—sharing insights from Scripture can feel pretty intimidating. It’s a weighty task, and I won’t kid myself into thinking I’ll ever be truly “qualified.” What compels me to share the Good News will always be my love for God and people. Jesus’ words in the Great Commission, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…” (Matthew 28:19), make it clear that we’re all called to share the Good News. And thanks to the Holy Spirit, we don’t do it alone. Learning and sharing encouragement in community is always a blessing too.
What about you?
If you’re a Christian, what drives you to share the Gospel? What do you think about the qualifications set out in this infographic?
